  2. firestormerc Says:

Your Welcome, Download Spybot Search & Destroy, run it and remove anything found

  3. sirvaan Says:

oh yeah I failed to mention it registers in CC cleaner that this is a problem and I fix it, but it still says the same thing missing after I fixed it MSVBVM60.DLL

  4. KabutosGirl001 Says:

Everytime I try to run Malwarebytes, I get an error message saying: “vbAcccelerator SGrid II control”, as the program title, and the message says “Run-time error ‘o’ ”

This message is then followed by a program alert, with the title of “Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware”, saying “Run-time error ‘440′: Automation error”.

Please explain what I should do. I already renamed the program, and tried the second program you sugested.
    Thank you.

Go to your system32 folder and find taskmanger might be called taskmnger not sure right click and then click properties and make sure it is not set to read only and i will tell you more information once i read up on it

  15. firestormerc Says:

Hit control alt delete then click the processes tab then find the process xppolice.exe then click the end process button and then go to your Program Files and delete the folder called Xp Police Anti-virus then you want to run malwarebytes and run a full scan which will find any left over files which go to this annoying program and remove anything found.

nia59 – It did not show up in my add/remove program either. I just ran malwarebytes (freeware) and it found it in 59 places on the computer. I deleted them and now I’m free. The only thing I still had to go in and do was manually re-activate the task manager that xp-police had de-activated. You can find instructions for that on the web.

firestormerc – thanks for posting this – I sure could have used this a couple days ago when I was pulling my hair out.

  18. Nia59 Says:

taskkill worked to get it off my screen… but XP is still installed on my computer- its not showing up in my add/remove programs… suggestion?

  23. tkotommygun Says:

firestormerc….ty,ty,ty so much…this worked so well!!!!…XP POLICE FREE!!!!…5 stars all the way!!!!

  24. HydroAlexis Says:

This was posted by someone else

xppolice stops the task manager from working, so kill the xppolice process from the command line:
    “taskkill /F /IM xppolice.exe”
    (without the quotes)

You should notice the xp crapware window disappear.

If you don’t know how to get to the command line – go to start, run, enter “cmd” (no quotes) and click OK. Then enter the TASKKILL command.

taskkill is available in xp professional, whereas in xp home you will have to use tskill [processname]

  25. DLgamer55 Says:
