Alright to all the whiners. This is a very bad guide. Yes, its true. Disabling all services is a bad idea. Disabling some of the services will make your computer run faster. For those of you who just listened to the video and do not know how to edit advanced system functions you should have done the following. 1. Don’t fuck with it. Frankly its the safest option. 2. Call the technical support that comes with your computer and ask how to optimize your operating system.

just defrag your comp with the one it comes with.

in search just type in defragmentation and it should come up. it makes files more compact somehow and makes your comp faster.

also, hibernate isnt exactly a good option. try not to use it too much. trust me, ive learnt :D as i found out by a computer technician

Also, don’t just turn off everything this guy did unless you know you won’t use the item. All lot of these things are very usefull to people who don’t know much about Windows.

Document everything you do. If you buy a firewire device a year from now, and forget that you’ve turned off the service today, you’ll have to do a lot of troubleshooting to get it to work.

On the Vista start Menu, the “search” thing at the bottom on the left hand side, under frequently used programmes, can be used as a run thing.

If you prefer the look of the old style start menu, open your start menu, right click on any free space - the space right beside your user avatar should work - and click on the properties box that comes up. Choose the Start Menu tab and choose Classic Start Menu and hit apply. If you choose Customize, you can add the Run Command to your start menu.
